Dear prospective member,

Thank you for your interest in the Glendale Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women). We would be delighted to have you join us! The Glendale Branch has been serving the local community since 1923.  Our long history and commitment to women and girls in the Glendale and neighboring areas is noted.

Directions for membership are listed on the AAUW CA State website located here: https://www.aauw-ca.org/join-us-2/

You will find that becoming active in the branch is enjoyable and will benefit you in terms of intellectual stimulation, friendships, and being of service to others. We have a list of current special interest groups and based on the interests, start news one.  These usually meet once a month from September through June. Most take place in members’ homes and are open to all members,  space permitting. Simply contact the group chairperson that you plan to attend.

Our bi-monthly newsletter, Verdugo Views, tells about special all-member events as well as other monthly activities.  When you become a member, you will be a regular recipient. Your “Membership Profile” will help us introduce you to other members.

The membership year usually runs from July 1 to June 30, and annual dues are $122. Basic dues allocation is as follows: National Association $72, State $20, PVP Branch $30.  Sixty-four dollars of the National dues are a tax-deductible contribution to the AAUW Funds.  National is instituting ‘rolling memberships’ which means that on the date you join, is when you will be reminded to renew.

AAUW membership is open to women or men with a two-year associate degree or higher from a qualified educational institution. Such educational institutions offer recognized associate, baccalaureate or higher degrees and have full regional or appropriate professional association approval.

Please join us now! Click Revised NEW 2023 Membership Form for the Application/Membership Profile and mail it along with your check for $122  made out to AAUW Glendale Branch to AAUW Glendale, P.O. Box 887, Glendale, CA 91209-0887 or call us at 831-607-9303 for more information.

WELCOME!

Categories of Membership

Branch Members–Membership offers friendship with like-minded people and an arena for making a positive contribution in the community.

Dual Members–are those who have paid Association, state and branch dues to another branch (the primary branch) and also pay dues to the Glendale Branch.

Members at Large–Some members belong to national AAUW only, with no branch affiliation. This is a membership category for those who want to support AAUW’s goals but don’t want to be active members or take advantage of the benefits of branch membership.
